1.定冠词的功能；2.不定冠词的功能。
在深圳市历年语法填空题型中，零冠词不予以考察，故不做特别说明。
定冠词的主要用法：
特指双熟悉，上文已提及。
世界独一二，序数最高级。
某些专有名，习语及乐器。
姓氏加复数，方位一类人。
表示上文中提及的，某个特定的事物;
Mum took out a watermelon from the fridge. Joey stared at the watermelon and said nothing.
表示双方都知道的人或者事物（约定俗成的事物）;
Open the door please.
表示世界上独一无二的事物;
The earth moves around the sun.
序数词、形容词最高级前：
The first lesson is very easy.
She is the most thoughtful girl in our class.
姓氏复数前表示一家人或夫妇二人
The Greens decided to pay a visit to local museum.
可数名词前表示一类人或者事物

用于江河湖海，沙漠群岛以及普通名词构成的专有名词前；

不定冠词的主要用法：（House)
叙述第一提到的某人或者某物;

泛指某一类人或者事物;
A plane is a machine that can fly.
泛指某一个人，或者某一件事物;
A girl is waiting for you.
用于时间、速度、价格等单位前，相当于every;
We usually have five German lessons a week.
在序数词前，表示“又一，再一”;
I have had 2 eggs and I decide to eat a third one.
其他固定搭配;
Have a cold ; as a result ; in a word ; for a while …
注意：定冠词a用在辅音音素开头的单词前；an用在元音音素开头的单词前；
在判断可数名词单数前需要加a还是an的判读依据是该单词的发音音素，而不是字母
初中阶段需要尤其注意的以下单词的发音考察：
辅音字母h开头，但是h不发音： an hour；an honest boy; an honor
辅音字母h开头，并且h发音 ： a happy ending; a hobby; a heavy rain; a horrible film
元音字母u开头，但是发音/ j / ： a university; a uniform; a useful tool; a useless way
元音字母u开头，并且发音/ / ： an unhappy man; an unexpected ending; an unhealthy diet
