The Palace Museum is one of the must-see places in Beijing and has millions of cultural relics (遗产) inside its walls. However, the museum can only show a small part of its relics to the public. Experts (专家) can’t fix as many cultural relics as they want. And more importantly, the museum can’t provide a proper service if the number of visitors goes over 80, 000 every day. Why Because there is not enough room inside the museum!
For nearly ten years, the Palace Museum has planned on its new building-a second home for the cultural relics, a second office for the experts, and a second museum for people to visit. Thirty kilometres away from the Palace Museum, the new museum will include places for the display, restoration and storage (展览、修复和贮存) of the cultural relics. And there is even a garden. Experts can better work on the protection and restoration of the cultural relics. And more visitors will be able to see the relics and learn more about our culture and history.
Although the new museum looks like a traditional Chinese building and has similar colours to the Palace Museum, it is modern and environmentally friendly. For example, it can save a lot of energy: The walls on the south side can let in a lot of air during the summer and keep it cool; during the winter, the walls on the north side can keep the cold air out and help the building stay warm.
The construction (施工) of the new Palace . Museum started in December 2022, and it may be open to the public in 2025. The Palace Museum will be 100 years old then. The new museum will surely be a great birthday gift for it.

From writing Shakespeare - style poetry to making music and writing computer codes, ChatGPT has amazed (使惊讶) the world since its launch by the tech company OpenAI. The technology has become so popular that it has brought up a mixture of praises and criticisms.
“Its answers to questions like what to do if someone has a heart attack were incredibly clear andrelevant,” an expert said. Its ability to collect data is really impressive (令人印象深刻的). ChatGPT can greatly benefit the productivity of office workers by helping to write reports, emails and even computer codes. They can therefore be freed to focus on more creative tasks. ChatGPT can also write original content and ideas, and potentially help to develop new products and services.
“One of the biggest problems with ChatGPT is that it creates content, very confidently, with falsities,” a professor said. This means that ChatGPT doesn’t know the truth about the world - it learns information from various resources but it cannot decide whether it is true or not. In this case, some argue that ChatGPT can be used to make fake news, or even be used for Internet crimes. As for education, many schools have recently banned students from using ChatGPT on school projects because students have begun to use it as a shortcut (捷径) for essays. ChatGPT may also present a real risk for skilled workers to lose their jobs. For example, chatbots can be developed to train employees in an organization, resulting in the unemployment of human trainers.
So, what does ChatGPT itself think of the risk “There are potential dangers in building highly complex chatbots, particularly if they are designed to be similar to humans in their language and behavior.” The chatbot answered. In fact, this passage may actually have been written by ChatGPT!

C. Product designers. D. Computer programmers.
37. What does the underlined word “falsities” in paragraph 3 mean
A. Bad information. B. Silly information.
C. Wrong information. D. Mon-relevant information.
38. According to paragraph 3, which of the following is NOT a risk of ChatGPT
A. It may be used to create false news reports.
B. It may be used to replace experienced workers.
C. It may be used to attract teenagers to chat online.
D. It may be used by students to cheat in school work.
39. What is the purpose of paragraph 4
A. To give more examples of ChatGPT.
B. To summarize the passage about ChatGPT.
C. To discuss solutions to ChatGPT-related problems.
D. To inspire readers to think critically about ChatGPT.
40. What is the passage mainly about
A. The wrong things ChatGPT has done.
B. The achievements of ChatGPT in the past.
C. The advantages and disadvantages of ChatGPT.
D. The possibility of ChatGPT replacing human beings.

【范文】
Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m happy to hear that there is an empty area in our school for building a Culture Corner or a Vegetable Garden. In my opinion, it’s better to build a vegetable garden. The reasons are as follows.
First of all, our government encourage students to take part in labor practice. Second, students can work with their classmates in the garden to strengthen their friendship. Third, working in the garden can help students learn farming skills. Fourth, a garden built on the empty land can harvest a lot of vegetables, such as tomatoes, potatoes, carrots and so on, which can save the cost of food for the school. Last but not least, students can form the habit of labor by planting vegetables.
As for how to build the vegetable garden, I have some ideas. The school can offer classes to teach students about farming and let them know different kinds of labor tools. Then, the school can set up some clubs, such as cooking club and animal- feeding clubs. Also, students can work in the vegetable garden every week. Such activities can not only make our school life more colorful, but also good for the growth of students.
Yours,
Li Hua
