过去进行时
1.定义
过去进行时表示过去某个时间点或某个时间段正在发生的事情或进行的动作。
2.结构
was/were +现在分词
3.基本句式
①肯/否定句:主语+was/were(not) +动词-ing形式( +其他).
The girl was shopping when 1 saw her.我看见那个女孩的时候，她正在购物。
②-般疑问句: Was/Were +主语+动词-ing形式( +其他)
-Were you playing basketball then 那个时候你们在打篮球吗
Yes, we were. , we weren't.是的，我们在打。 /不，我们不在打。
4.用法
①过去进行时表示过去某段时间内持续进行的动作。常用的时间状语为: this morning, the whole morning, all day yesterday, from nine to ten last evening等。
We were watching TV from seven to nine last night.昨天晚上七点到九点的时候我们在看电视。
②过去进行时可以表示在过去某个时间点发生的事情。时间点可以用介词短语或从句等来表示。
When I saw him, he was decorating his room.当我看见他的时候，他正在装饰他的房间。
③在复合句中，如果主从句的动作都是延续的或同时发生的，那么主从句都可用过去进行时。
While he was watching TV, she was reading a newspaper.他在看电视时，她在读报纸。
