One possible version:
When I was 12 years old, I had my first home alone experience. At that time, my parents were both away on business, so I had to spend a night home alone.
That afternoon, when I got home from school, I cooked myself some food. Although it didn’t taste good, I enjoyed it. After dinner, I did my homework and watched TV. At bedtime, I was a little afraid to sleep alone, so I turned on all the lights, listened to some light music for a while and finally fell asleep.
The next morning, I quickly got up when my alarm clock rang. I had some bread and an egg and then went to school.
I really felt proud of myself and thought I had grown up. I could take good care of myself and manage my time well when I stayed home alone. So my parents didn’t need to worry about me and could keep their minds on their work.内江九年级月考卷(三)测试题

Once upon a time, there was a lazy man who always looked for an easier way to feed himself. One day when he saw nobody guarding on a fruit farm, he decided to steal some fruits. But as soon as he started to climb a tree, the farmer saw him and started coming at him. The lazy man quickly ran towards the forest nearby to hide.
When he was running through the forest, he saw a fox crawling (爬) with only two legs. The lazy man thought,“How can this fox feed himself with only two legs ”Suddenly, he saw a lion coming towards the fox with a piece of meat in his mouth. The lazy man climbed up a tree. While all the other animals ran away, the fox stayed there. What happened next shocked the lazy man. The lion left the meat for the fox!
The lazy man thought there must be something planned for him too. So, he sat by the road waiting for someone to feed him too. He waited there for two days but didn’t see anybody until a wise old man came. He told the old man everything and asked him,“Why has life shown mercy (仁 慈) on the fox, but is so cruel to me ”
The old man answered,“It’s true that life has a plan for everyone. But you took its sign the wrong way. Life doesn’t want you to be like the fox. It wants you to be like the lion.”
Often we misunderstand the signs. Everyone has been given abilities to do their part. Always learn to see the things in a positive (积极的) way and see yourself in a strong position to help those in need. Don’t try to take the easy way in life.
( )28. What surprised the lazy man a lot when he was in the forest

( )31. What do we know about the lazy man
A. He took away the meat from the fox.

C. He spent two meaningless days by the road.
D. He failed to understand what the old man said.

Most social media apps (社交媒体应用程序) have a common theme — people can comment (评论) on posts, or hit a button to“like”(点赞) them. Some people are worried that social media can lead to stress among its users. As a result, Instagram is trying hiding the number of“likes”on posts. The person who has posted a picture can still see who has liked it, but nobody else can. Some people are unhappy with the change; artists who post photos of their creations online can no longer show others how many people enjoyed their works. So, is it time to keep the number of “likes”a secret
Studies show that people can think negatively (消极地) about themselves if their social media posts don’t get enough attention, especially if their friends have many“likes”. The change will cut down this stress, and may even encourage people to enjoy life away from social media. If people aren’t worried about how well their photos do, they may spend more time enjoying real life. Besides, social media “likes” are usually only about how good something or someone looks. There are much more important reasons to be celebrated, and feeling bad about yourself because of social media isn’t healthy.
While some people think hiding the number of “likes” will make things better, some people say it’s a silly idea. It’s difficult to see how this will stop people feeling bad about themselves. They will still be able to see how many “likes” they have received, and although they won’t be able to compare this to other people’s posts, they will be able to compare the number of comments or shares. Besides, there’s nothing wrong with people feeling good about the number of “likes” they’ve received. It can be a nice encouragement. For some people, such as artists, it also helps them make money or get new chances.
( )32. Why did Instagram make the change
A. To make users less nervous.
B. To encourage people to comment.
C. To encourage people to create.
D. To make it easier to use.
( )33. What do the studies in Paragraph 2 show
A. People are putting up with much stress every day.
B. People are not as close to their friends as before.
C. Social media can influence people’s feelings badly.
D. Social media makes people spend lots of time online.
( )34. Which of the following is TRUE about showing “likes” according to the passage
A. It can draw more users.
B. It can help people enjoy real life.
C. It is helpful to keeping friendship.
D. It may provide good chances for some people.
( )35. What does the passage mainly talk about
A. Whether social media apps should hide “likes”.
B. Whether people should comment on social media.
C. How using social media influences people’s life.
D. How hitting “likes” on social media helps people.
