二、阅读理解
In Hong Kong, most schools are very strict about what students wear to school. For example, they do not allow students to wear any kind of accessories, such as necklaces or earrings. Some people argue that small items, like simple earrings, should be acceptable. However, I feel that students should not be allowed to wear any kind of accessories to school.
Firstly, if students are allowed to wear accessories to school, they will be less focused on their studies. Instead of discussing schoolwork, they will spend time talking about accessories. For example, things like the latest trends or where to find them. Besides, if students are allowed to wear accessories to school, they will probably spend a lot of time reading fashion magazines and shopping. As result, they will spend far less time on homework and revision.
Another reason why I think accessories should not be allowed in school is that they can be very costly. Even if students choose not to buy designer accessories, they may still spend a lot of their pocket money on them. This is because there are many types of accessories available and they would probably want several items of each.
All in all, if students are allowed to wear accessories to school, it will distract(分散) them from their studies. In addition, it will cost them a lot of money. Therefore, I believe that students
should not be allowed to wear accessories to school.
11.Which of the following things are accessories
A.Rings B.Sweaters C.Shoes D.Uniforms.
12.How do students probably get the information about new accessories
A.By discussing schoolwork with friends. B.By chatting with some designers online.
C.By reading fashion magazines and shopping. D.By entering a school for only designers.

A.To show different opinions towards whether students can wear accessories to school.
B.To argue why he thinks students should not be allowed to wear accessories to school.
C.To describe what accessories students are wearing to school in Hong Kong these days.
D.To advise more and more students in Hong Kong to wear simple accessories to school.
14.What is the structure of this passage
A. B. C. D.
Teenagers believe anything is possible if they study hard. But they often forget to think about healthy diets, enough sleep time and exercise. In fact, these things are really important for them to keep fit.
It is important for teenagers to get enough energy. Teenage girls need about 2,200 calories a day while boys need a bit more—doctors suggest 2,800 for teenage boys.50% of their calories should come from healthy food—rice, vegetables and fruit. People often say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Teenagers also need to drink a lot of water,6 to 8 glasses a day. Drinking enough water will improve their skin.
Teenagers usually need eight to ten hours’ sleep at night, but many Chinese teenagers do not get enough sleep. A report shows that without a good night’s sleep, teenagers seem to be weaker than they should be. Too much homework is not the only reason why teenagers stay up late. Some watch TV or play computer games late into the night. Teenagers should develop good study habits. So some clever students never study late, but they are able to work well in class.
Exercise is something that can help them. Experts suggest that teenagers should spend at least 30 minutes exercising a day, five times a week. They will feel relaxed when they exercise. It can even help them sleep better at night.

Say you’re sitting around with some friends playing video games and someone mentions a game that happens to be one of your favorites. “Oh, that game’s easy. So not worth the time,” one of your friends says. The others agree. Although you enjoy the game quite a lot, not wanting to argue with them, you go along with the crowd.
You have just experienced what is commonly referred to as peer (同伴) pressure, also called peer influence. You will adopt a certain type of behavior, dress, or attitude in order to be accepted as part of a group of your “peers”. As a teen, you are likely to have experienced the effect of peer pressure in a number of different areas.
We are all influenced by our peers at any age. For teens, as school and other activities take
you away from home, you may spend more time with your friends than with your family. As you become more independent, your peers naturally play a greater role in your life.
According to Dr. Casey from Cornell University, teens are very quick and accurate in making decisions on their own and in situations where they have time to think. However, when they make decisions in the heat of the moment or in social situations, their decisions are often influenced by factors like peers. In a recent study, teen volunteers played a video driving game, either alone or with friends watching. The researchers discovered that the number of risks teens took more than doubled when their friends were watching, compared with when they played alone. This shows that teens may find it more difficult to control risky behavior when their friends are around, or in situations where they are extremely angry.
Just as people can influence us to make unwise choices, they can also influence us to make good ones. A teen might join in a volunteer project because his or her friends are doing it, or get good grades because his or her friends think getting good grades is important. In fact, friends often encourage each other to study, or try out for sports.
While we are always influenced by those around us, the decision to act or not is up to us. So, when it comes to decision making, the choice is up to you.
25.What can we learn from the passage
A.Teens are eager to be different from their peers.
B.Peer pressure has effects on both teens and adults.
C.Peer pressure does more harm than good to teens.
D.Teens think it challenging to get good grades at school.
26.The words “in the heat of the moment” in Paragraph 4 probably mean ________.
A.when teens avoid possible risks
B.when teens trust their judgment
C.when teens lose control over their anger
D.when teens give consideration to situations
27.Which of the following would be the best title for the passage
A.Peer Pressure: Is It Necessary to Deal with It
B.Peer Pressure: Is It Possible to Get Away from It
C.Peer Pressure: Its Benefits to Teens and Friend Making
D.Peer Pressure: Its Influence on Teens and Decision Making
